Night after night, my mind wanders to the letter in the box at the bottom of my closet and the woman trapped inside.
Few people know or understand the magnitude of my OCD because fighting it has been a top priority. Maybe it was because I had too many battles to fight without the addition of being a “freak” growing up- I had enough trouble fitting in as it was.
Even more importantly, we must also be taught how to thrive. Any fool can drown, but you must be taught to hold your own when life is trying to pull you under. And if you really want to get somewhere in life...to thrive...then you've got to learn how to swim.
